Sorghum fodder (CO-27) was raised as sole crop and with over seeded stylosanthes scabra under partial irrigation and the nutritive value of both the fodders was assessed in rams. Over seeding sorghum with Stylosanthes scabra reduced the biomass yield, however there was significant (P<0.01) increase in the dry matter intake and nutrients digestibility. The DCP and TDN yield per hectare increased by 23.1 and 4.0 percent respectively due to over seeding fodder sorghum with Stylosanthes scabra. Fodder sorghum CO-27 variety is one of the important fodder crops grown under irrigated and rain fed conditions in Tamil Nadu. In the present experiment fodder sorghum CO-27 was over seeded with Stylosanthes scabra under partial irrigated condition and the nutritive value of the fodder was assesed in sheep.
