Rohu fry (0.149±0.0005g) were reared for 30 day in the laboratory under four different treatments (A, B, C and D). A was control while B, C and D had water probiotic (50 mg/l), combination of water and feed probiotics (50 mg/1 + 0.2%) and feed probiotic (0.2%) alone, respectively. The diet comprising 35% protein was common to all treatments. The rearing of fry in treatment ‘C with water and feed probiotic combination showed significant (P<0.05) gain in weight of 0.658±0.07g as compared to other treatments A, B and D which showed 0.354±0.01g, 0.573±0.04g and 0.617±0.03g avarage body weight gain respectively. However, no significant difference in weight gain among the treatments B, C and D was observed. Higher survival of 80% was obtained with the treatment ‘C. The combination of water and feed probiotics, therefore influence the growth and survival of fry in aquaculture.
