Abstract

The BE and ME values of 16 common Indian fodders fed at maintenance level to adult rams, were determined, using improvised open circuit respiration chamber, and werealso calculated by Rostock equations. The energy values determined by the two methods did not differ significantly. Prediction equations were worked out to determine the actual DEand ME values from the Rostock values and from the in vitro OMD.
