Toasted guar meal was used to replace 0,25, 50, 75 and 100 per cent of groundnut cake in the growing-finishing swine rations which were fed to Large White Yorkshire piglets from 8 weeks of age to market weight to study the effect on carcass traits. Replacement with toasted guar meal did not have any significant effect on whole sale cuts, backfat thickness, dressing percentage and the organ weights. These observations indicated that guar meal can safely be incorporated in the rations of growing finishing swine.
