A complete ration with 40:60 Concentrate to roughage ratio (CR-1) supplemented with Lactobacillus acidophilus, lg (CR-2), Saccharomyces cervisiae (Yea-Sacc1026), 10g (CR-3) or Lactobacillus acidophilus, 0.5g+(Yea-Sacc1026), 5g (CR-4) was fed to 20 Nellore brown male lambs (14.11±0.53 Kg) divided into four groups of five animals each in a completely randomized experiment for 70 days. The DMI and ADG for the lambs fed complete ration CR-3 was significantly higher (P<0.05) followed by CR-4, CR-2 and CR-1. The average values of ADG for CR-4 and CR-1 are significantly (P<0.05) different Highest efficiency of feed utilization in CR-4 followed by CR-3, CR-2 and CR-1 was observed. The study indicated that supplementation of probiotics to complete rations improved efficiency of feed utilization and daily weight gains in sheep.
