Eight lactating Murrah buffaloes 3–4 months in milk were selected in a village with an average body weight of 254 kg. The milk yields were recorded for 21 days preliminary period by feeding the animals with jowar green fodder, paddy straw in addition to 6 hours grazing in marginal land. This was followed by a collection period for 7 days by feeding a kg of the concentrate mixture made locally after duly recording the milk yields. There was a significant increase of 0.29 to 0.82 litres of milk by feeding the concentrate mixture. It was concluded that feeding concentrate mixture prepared using locally available ingredients will increase the milk yield and reduce the cost of milk production per kg.
