Abstract

Kanchan (Bauhinia retusa Roxb.) leaves contained 13.7% CP, 3.9% EE, 25.2% CF, 43.3% NFE, 13.9 total ash on DM basis. The DM intake, as % BW (2.85) in adult crossbred bucks clearly revealed that the leaves were highly palatable. The nutrient in kanchan leaves were highly digestible (DM 65.6%, CP 64.2% CF 54% and NFE 79.2%). Kanchan leaves contained 8.79% DCP and 52.82% TDN.
