Two feeding experiments were conducted to evaluate the utilization of boiled sweet potato (BSP) in the rations of crossbred (Hampshire X Khasi local) pigs. In the 1st experiment castrated male eiglets (12; 19.0±0.15 kg BW) divided into 3 equal groups were offered rations containing 0,40 or 60% BSP replacing maire & deoiled rice polish for 50 days. In the 2nd experiment castrated male piglets (16; 9.47±0.17kg BW) divided into 4 equal groups were used to study the utilization of BSP at 40% level with solvent extracted or roasted full fat soybean meal for 30 days. Crossbred grower pigs fed on BSPT at 40% level had significantly (P<0.05) higher ADG than pigs fed control ration without any changes in FCR. However, DM digestibility increased significantly (P<0.05) in grower pigs fed on BSP at 40% level and was at par with control at 60% level where as CP digestibility was maintained up to 40% level and then decreased significantly (P<0.01) at 60% level. In 2nd experiment, DM digestibility increased (P<0.05) along with high (P<0.05) ADG in piglets fed on BSP at 40% level either with solvent extracted soybean meal or full fat roasted soybean meal than the piglets fed without BSP.
