The present study was conducted to assess the effect of replacing conventional ration by kitchen waste on the performance of pigs. Growers cross bred pigs (36; 2.5m old of 10.96± 0.6 kg BW) divided into 3 equal groups were fed either iso-caloric and iso-nitrogenous conventional diets containing 18.1% CP and 3.28 Meal DE/kg (C) or (C) completely replaced with raw kitchen waste (RKW) or boiled kitchen waste (BKW) for 250 days. The DM intake and digestibility of nutrients were similar in 3 groups. The N, Ca & P retention was higher (P<0.05) in kitchen waste fed groups as compared to conventional diet. There was no significant difference between RKW and BKW groups, showing that kitchen waste fed either raw or boiled were equally superior to conventional concentrate mixture in respect of growth performance in pigs. The boiling of kitchen waste did not have any additional beneficial effect.
