A study was conducted to observe the effect of three levels of rumen degradable and undregradable protein (RDP: UDP-70:30,60:40 and 50:50) in an iso-nitrogenous and iso-caloric rations on changes in some blood metabolites, milk progesterone and reproductive performance was studied in early lactating crossbred cows. Fourteen cows were divided into three groups based on similar milk production. Blood glucose, NEFA concentration and serum protein in the three groups were not affected by treatments. Mean insulin concentration was higher (P<0.05) in groups JJ and III than in group I. Serum urea nitrogen (SUN) was higher (P<0.05) in group I than in other groups. Mineral concentration (Mg, P, K, Cu and Zn) in blood was similar among the groups. Milk progesterone level in single estrus was similar in all the groups. The reproductive parameters studied in this experiment were not affected by dietary treatments. It was concluded that the RDP: UDP ratio in the iso nitrogenous and iso caloric ration fed to medium producing crossbred cows had no effect on reproductive performance of animals.
