Fenugreek (Trigonella foenugraecum) seed residue obtained from Ayurvedic pharmaceutical industry contained 29.2% CP, 15.7% CF, 3.7% TA and 48.4% NFE. The NDF content was 53.2%. The soluble protein content was 22.9% CP and NPN was 12.7% of soluble protein. It had 59.3% B2 protein fraction and 53.4% carbohydrate fraction. The IVDMD was 40.93%. The in situ dry matter evaluation indicated EDDM of 55.5% and EDP (effecetive degradable protein) of 66.5%. The RDP and UDP contents were 19.4 and 9.8%, respectively. The rumen fermentation pattern determined in fistulated steers by infusing 200g of fenugreek seed residue revealed normal trend in terms of rumen pH, NH3N and TVFA.
