Abstract

Three types of urea molasses mineral blocks (B1, B2 and B3) were manufactured using cold process and stored at 20, 30, 40 and 50°C at 40, 48, 56, 59, 61 and 71% relative humidities (RH) for 30 days using static method. Equilibrium moisture content (EMC) was mainly influenced by relative humidity, temperature and type of block. The mean total sugar values were 32.38, 32.18 and 32.17 per cent for B1, B2 and B3 respectively. Per cent loss in total sugar was not significantly (P≤0.05) different among various chemical UMMB's during the storage period. The alcoholic acidity was significantly (P≤0.05) higher in B1 as compared to B2 and B3, There was no visual fungal or mould growth in any UMMB indicating that blocks can be safely stored between 20–500C and 40- 71% relative humidities.
