Abstract

Thirty crossbred pigs (LWY x Desi, b. wt. 35.4±0.3kg), divided into 5 groups of 6 each, were fed on diets containing commercially available mineral mixture (Tl), locally formulated mineral mixture (T2), Tl+phytase (T3), T2 +phytase (T4) and T2 with out DCP but supplemented with phytase (T5). Phytase supplementation resulted in higher digestibility of DM, EE, NFE, calcium and phosphorus (P<0.05) besides improving (P<0.05) the ADG. The excretion of N, Ca and P were reduced in phytase supplemented groups.
