An on farm trial was conducted in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan to assess the effect of urea molasses mineral block (UMMB) supplementation on productive performance of lactating cows. Fifteen crossed cows (Bas indicus) were divided into three groups (T₁, T₂ and T₃) consisting 5 animals each. Control group (T₁) was maintained as per farmer's practices, while groups T₂ and T₃ were fed on concentrate mixture 1kg/3 liter of milk yield and 15 kg green fodder but T₃ was provided additional urea molasses mineral block @ 300 g/day/head along with T₂ for 70 days. The average milk yield (kg/day) was significantly (P<0.05) higher in group T₃ (8.20 ±0.29) than in groups T₂ (7.15 ±0.18) and T₁ (5.40 ± 0.21). Net returns over feed (Rs/d) were higher in T₃ (73.2) as compared to T₂ (57.6) and T₁ (44.6). It was inferred that feeding of UMMB along with balance concentrate mixture is economically beneficial for lactating cows.
