Feed utilization by rams on control and three different poultry litter (PL) based rations was evaluated. There were no significant treatment differences in the average daily feed intake on live weight gains of adult rams over the six week feeding period. The utilization of nutrients did not differ significantly among control and PL substituted rations supplemented with energy through molasses. It is concluded that PL, when fed along with an energy source, can satisfactorily replace 50 percent concentrate moiety on equivalent nitrogen basis in ruminant rations.
