The nutritive value of urad chuni, a byproduct of pulse milling industry, was determined in cross-bred calves. On dry matter basis, the chemical composition of urad chuni was 17.44% CP, 0.78% EE, 22.74% CF, 47.57% NFE, 11.47% TA, 0.28% Ca and 0.49% P, The voluntary intake of DM was 3.16±1.02 kg per 100 kg body weight on sole feeding. However, on restricted feeding upto the level to supply the protein requirement for cross-bred calves alongwith ad lib feeding of wheat straw, the DM intake decreased to 2.7S ±0.23 kg per 100 kg body weight. The percentage of DCP and TDN of urad chuni was respectively 10.42±0.43 and 50.26±0.06 and compared well with the values determined by difference method.
