Abstract

A study was conducted to find out the effect of supplementation of ginger waste meal on growth performance and carcass characteristics in broiler chicken for 7 weeks. Two hundred forty day old coloured synthetic broiler chicks of either sex were distributed randomly in 4 dietary treatments. Each treatment group had 3 replicates with 20 chicks each. The birds in treatment T1 were given standard ration while ginger waste meal was included @ 5, 10 and 15% in treatments T1, T2 and T3, respectively. Inclusion of ginger waste meal in the diets upto 15% resulted in higher (P<0.05) body weight gain and feed consumption compared to control group, however, feed conversion ratio and carcass characteristics were similar in all the groups.
