Fifteen (Beetal x Black Bengal) kids of 4-5 months age were randomly divided into three equal groups. In group 1 concentrate mixture containing groundnut cake as a source of protein was fed whereas 50 and 100 percent groundnut cake was replaced part by part by ground subabul (Leucaeno leucocephala) seed in groups 2 and 3, respectively. Gram bhoosa was provided as a basal roughage to all the experimental animals. A 200 days’ feeding experiment was followed by a digestion trial, thereafter, the animals were sacrificed. Results indicated non significant difference between average daily DM intake and growth rate among groups. The values of digestibility coefficients for NFE, CF and DM were similar, whereas the values for EE and CP differed significantly (P<0.05) among the 3 treatment groups. The meat samples taken from Longissinias dorsi (LD) muscle, forelegs and hind legs of the experimental animals of different groups were analysed for proximate constituents and the values were statistically similar with respect to different parts except EE in the case of forelegs.
