Abstract

Fractional disappearance rate (h-1) in the feedstuf’’s suspended in polyester bags in the rumen ranged from 0.5524 to 0.0934 for DM and from 0.7636 to 0.0546 for N. In-vitro production of total volatile fatty acids (meq/I) was higher (P<0.01) in rations with 60 per cent RDN (32.65) than in those with 80 per cent (30.9) and 40 per cent (30.95) RDN. Ammonia-N production (ng/tnl SRL) was significantly (P <0.01) more ‘(32.5) on diets containing maize as energy source than on diets with oat (20.1) and barley (20.7).
