Two groups of Haryana calves were fed with concentrate mixture, wheat straw and green fodder. The calves in group B (experimental) were fed with concentrate mixture in which groundnut cake of group A ration (control) was replaced with Kasni (Chicarium intybus L) seed. The average DM consumption in groups A and B was 2.63 ± 0.11 and 2.60 ± 0.00 kg per 100 kg body weight, respectively. The differences for DM intake, digestibility of proximate principles and nutrient intake between both the groups were nonsignificant. The results indicated that the Kasni seed could replace the groundnut cake in the ration of growing calves.
