Comparative reliance of certain analytical techniques for determination of Ca and P in mineral supplements for livestock was tested by running recovery trials by two techniques for Ca and four techniques for P. For estimation of Ca, the AAS technique with added 0.2 per cent Sr as demasking agent under same concentration of mineral acids in test, standard and blank was found superior to titrimetric technique based on Ca-oxalate precipitation method. For P determination, the hydroquinone complex photometric method was found superior to all the four techniques tested.
