Feed conversion efficiency for growth was estimated in 16 Jersey x Kankrej (F2) and 16 Molstcin Friesian x Kankrej (F2) heifers during summer of 1985. It was comparable (11.70 vs 12.45 percent) in both the breeds. However, while the sheltering and water splashing treatments did not show any significant effect on the traits, the feed conversion efficiency was significantly (P<0.01) affected due to period.
