Different Ca and P supplements viz, dicalcium phosphate, marble powder, gypsum, rock phosphate and superphosphate were used in calculated quantities to supply similar Ca and P levels in the mineral mixture in a routine concentrate and wheat straw based ration given to four rumen fistulated adult cattle in a switch over experiment. No significant (P < 0.05) effect was observed on DM intake. There was no effect on the pH, TVFA concentration and individual VFA’ s in the rumen liquor collected 4 h post-feeding. However, ruminal NH3-N concentration was lower on rock phosphate fed group. Bood Ca and P levels were similar in all the treatments.
