Effect of water splashing to overcome summer stress was studied on fifteen lactatlng Murrah buffaloes (5 years, 510 kg) divided into three equal groups with no splashing of water (Gp I), with splashing of water for 15 min (Gp II) and 30 mln (Gp III) on body surface before milking. The animals were fed concentrate mixture and wheat straw ad lib as basal diet. TDN and DCP intakes were significantly higher (P < 0.01) in groups II and HI than in group 1. The digestibility coefficients of DM, CP, CF, NFE and N balance were also significantly higher (P< 0.01) in groups II and III than In group I. Significant (P< 0.01) difference was observed in the milk and FCM yields in various groups of animals. However, the percentage composition of milk in different groups of animals did not exhibit any difference due to water splashing.
