Abstract

Eight Jersey calves (2m) were divided into two equal groups and fed for 5m conventional concentrate mixture (CM Gp 1) and CM with 10 per cent Kaenth fruit meal (KFM) substituted for barley and rice Kani (Gp 2). Green maize was offered ad lib as roughage to all animals. The daily DM intake (kg/100 kg body weight) was 2.83 and 2.92 (P< 0.05) in groups I and 2 respectively, while the mean body weight gains were 42.6 and 44.1 kg (P> 0.05). No significant differences in the nutrient digestibilities were observed between the two groups.
