Fifteen crossbred (1/4 Suffolk x 1/4 Dorset x 1/2 Muzaffarnagri; 6 m ; 10.8-17.5kg) lambs divided into three equal groups were fed control (T,) or untreated deoiled mahua (Bassia latifolia) seed cake (DMSC; T2) or aqueous alcohol treated DMSC (ATOM SC; T3) containing rations alongwith wheat straw ad lib for 46 wks, The animals remained thrifty and apparently normal. They were sacrificed in three lots after 19, 30 and 46 wks post Feeding. Histopathological exam inatlon revealed mild degenerative changes in liver, kidneys and testis in the animals fed DMSC suggesting deleterious effects of the DMSC. The degenerative changes in these organs were less pronounced in the animals fed ATDMSC.
