Twenty four male cross-bred (Alpine x Beetal x Saanen) kids (3-4 m; 11.0 kg) were randomly divided into 4 equal groups and fed alfatoxin at 0 (T1), 0.3 (T2), 0.6 (T3) and 1.0 (T4) ppm in paper packets alongwith concentrate mixture and lucerne fodder for 16 wks. The average weight gains (g/wk) were 508.5, 408.5,330.1 and 228.6 in T1 to T4 respectively indicating clearly a reduction in weight gain with incremental increase in the leveelf aflatoxin Feed to gain ratios were 8.95,10.48,12.60 and 17.39 in respecttve treatments which indicated a higher DM consumption per unit weight gain due to increased level of aflatoxin toxicity. Regression analysis of the data revealed that 0.14 ppm aflatoxin in feed was a safe level for growth in kids.
