Effect of Feeding Different Ratios of Faba Bean and Oat Fodder on Body Weight Change, Dry Matter Intake and Nutrients Utilization in Lambs

Abstract

Mixture of faba bean (Vicia faba L.) and oat (A vena sativa) green fodders in proportions of 1:1 (T1), 1: 2 (T2) and 2:1 (T3) were fed to lambs (3-6 m; 9-11kg) randomly divided into 3 groups of 6 each for 50 d. The DM intake of lambs, change in their body weights and digestlbility coefflcients of various nutrients did not differ (P; 0.05) among the three groups. However, the values of DCP in different rations vi.ried significantly (P<0.05) but not that of TDN.
