Feed intake and efficiency of feed conversion were studied in inter se mated Jersey x Kankrej halfbred calves (birth to 6 m). The DM consumption (kg/100 kg body weight) averaged 2.69 and 3.94 during birth to 4m (preweaning) and from 4 to 6m (postweantag) period, respectively. The mean DM required (kg/kg gain) was 2.70 and 6.80 in the respective period. The period of birth significantly (P<0.05) affected the feed conversion efficiency of the calves during 4 to 6m.
