Preservation and Utilization of Potato Solid Waste in Ruminant Ration

Potato solid waste (PSW) containing 25 % DM was smmoniated alone and in combination with different levels of paddy and wheat straw with 4% urea (on straw DM basis) for 30 d. Ammoniaf ion improved the CP content as weli as DM and OM degradabilities sn PSW alone as well as in mixed feeds. However, offensive smell and viscous texture of the ammoniated materials, especially of PSW alone, appeared to be limiting factor for feeding PSW based feeds to ruminants.
