Twelve Karakul x Malpura rams (1- 1½ yrs; 24-29 kg) were randomly divided into3 equal groups and fed ad libitum Subabul (Leucaena leucocephala) treated with solutions of either 0 2% Calcium sulphate (T1) or 0.2% ferrous sulphate (T2) orsimple water (T3) for 105d. The results of the metabolism experiment did not show any effect on the nutrient digestibilities, nutritive value balances of N as well as Ca. However, the balances of P were negative in T3. Similarly, there was shedding of wool in rams in this group. It was suggested that the water treatment was less effective.
