A study was conducted on 3 intact and 3 operated donkeys for caecotomy excluding ileocaecal junction. Animals in both groups were fed 1 kg concentrate mixture (about 19% CP) and chaffed oat hay. Mean DM intakes were 1.8±0.04 and 2.48±0.10 kg/100 kg body weight (P<0.01) in intact and operated groups. There was significant (P<0.01) decrease In the digestibility of CF in the operated donkeys as compared to intact animals.
