Abstract

Twenty MA mares were randomy distributed in 4 equal groups and fed cereal legume green fodder ad lib with (T1), 1 (T2), 2(T3) and 4.1 (T4) kg concentrate mixture alongwith their foals on the day of foalingonwards. Non-significant effect of dam’s ration was observed on the growth and development of foals upto weaning at 6m of age. Average daily gain in body weight of foals at the end of 6m nursing was 715, 742, 752 and 768 g; in height 0.165, 0.172, 0.169 and 0.183 cm; in hearth girth 0.247, 0.262, 0.266 and 0.273 cm; and in shank circumference 0.019, 0.021, 0.022 and 0.021 cm in T1 to T4 respectively.
