200 male White Leghorn chicks (Id old) were randomly divided intol equal groups and fed for 12wks on diets containing graded levels of tallow at 0 (T2), 2 (T3), 4 (T4) and 6 (T5) percent with deoiled rice bran (DRR) as an ingredient. In addition a positive control group was also kept on diet with rice polish in place of DRB and tallow at 0 (T1) percent tlvel. II was observed that the carcass protein (83.02±1.25%) decreased significantly (P<0.01) and the carcass body fat (12.56±1.14) increased significantly (P<0.01) in T, than other treatments due to inclusion of tallow at 6% in the diet. The amount of body fat (8.69+0.62%) was significantly (P<0.01) lower in the birds in T2 than those in T1. The serum cholesterol levels increased significanly (P<0.0l) with the increase in the level of tallow in the diet.
