Sixteen Sahiwal (12-24 m; 92-146 kg) and eight crossbred (Sahiwal x Jersey) heifers (17-24m; 118-139 kg), divided into four equal groups, were fed concentrate mixture with replacement of 0 (T1), 20 (T2), 30 (T3) and 40 (T4) percent CP through Subabul (Leucaena leucocephala) seed for 98 d. Body weight gain, body measurements, water intake, and feed conversion efficiency were not affected due to experimental feeds. However, the cost/kg body weight gara was significantly (P<0.05) lower in T2, T3 and T4 aa sompared to T1.
