Abstract

Five lactating crossbred (Bos taurus x Bos indicus) cows (3-4 yrs; 350-410 kg) were fed ad libitum on artificially grown barley fodder (AGBF).Mean daily DM intake was 1.93±0.15 kg/100 kg body weight equivalent to 84.76±6.39 g/kgW0.75. Mean digestibility coeffcients of DM, CP, EE and TCHO were 71.17, 70.13, 63.68 and 74.25, respectively. The fodder contained 9.46±0.01 per cent DCP and 73.12±1.36 per cent TDN on DM basis.
