Abstract

Fourteen green fodders were evaluated for DM digestibility by nylon bag and in voitro techniqaes. The digestibility values obtained with nylon bag technique et 24, 48, 72 and 96h were -36.84, -15.76, -2.54 and +3.57 per cent different respectively from the respective conventional digestibility values. The figures obtained by in vitro techniques arc on an average 10.32 per cent lower than the conventional digestibility values. The results indicated that the DM digestibility values obtained by nylon bag technique ea 72h were more close to the conventional values and provide a good basis for selection from a large number of genotypes for their nutritive values. A ssgnificant torrelation existed between the CF and the nylon bags DM digestibility.
