The optimum combination for preparation of saturated solution of lime was found to be 20g available lime/91 water, 10min of shaking followed by lh of settling time. Similarly, 12-151 of saturated lime solution per 0.5 kg rice straw and 1d soaking was best for treatment. Types of lime also differed in their effects of NBDMD. Thus, hydrated lime for building (HLB) and chemical industries (HLC) were superior to quick lime for chemical industries (QLC).
