Abstract

24 Black Bengal Male goats (15-18m; 9-12 kg) were randomly divided in 4 equal groups and fed para hay od lib and 200gofeithercrushed maize (A))or groundnutcake(B) or wheat bran (C) or no supplement (D) for 45d. The water intake increased with the increase in the level of CP intake. The water excretion through urine was directly related with CP intake but faecal water excretion did not follow the same trend. The fresh water Intake and total water intake were also directly related with CP intake. The results Indicated that the Black Bengal goats consumed 1.81 to 3.11 kg water per kg DM intake.
