Machine grown barley green fodder (MGBGF) of 8 d old was supplemented to paddy straw based rations of lactating cross-bred (On gole x Holstein) cows in two experiments, where the concentrate quota of production requirement was replaced by MGBGF at 50 (Expt I) and 25 (Kxpt II) per cent levels. There was no siggificant difffrence in DM in -take, digestibility of nutrients, DCP, TUN and ME in take among the groups. Average dally milk yield, 4% FCM yield, fat and SNF percent were also similar in all groups. The data revealed that the concentrate mixture could be replaced by MGBGF up to 50% lelvel in the rations of lactating crossbred cows.
