Twenty four weaned male Magra lambs (3-5m; 10-16kg) were divided into 4equal groups and fed unprotected protein (T1), HCHO protected protein (T2), HCHO protected protein supplemented with urea (T3) and unprotected protein supplemented with urea (T4) for 360d. Highly significant effect (P,<0.01) of treatments was observed on the total bacterial counts. Highly significant (P<0.01) effect due to treatment as well as time intervals was also observed on the total protozoal counts. The percentage of holotricha increased by feeding of protected protein and that of entodinium by urea ffeding. The population of diplodinium, epidinium and ophryoscolex remained unchanged.
