24 crossbred Haryuna \ Jersey and (Haryana x Holstein Friesian) male calves (4m; 78kg) were distributed In 4 equal groups in a completely randomised design and fed a ration comprising of green maize (Zea mays) forage and concentrate mixture, where the soyabean cake was given either untreated (Gp I)or after treatment with either heat (140 C for4h;Gp II) or HCHO (1 % v/w of CP; Gp III) or tannic acid (10% w/w of cake; Gp IV) for 120d. It was observed that/the DM, OM and total carbohydrates decreased significantly (P<0.05) due to heat, HCHO and tannic acid treatments, the digestibilities of other nutrients were not affected due to any of the treatments.
