Abstract

Twenty male crossbred (Alpine X Beetal) kids of about 5-6 montl age and 13-14 kg average body weight were equally divided into four groups and were fed ad lib. on four complete pelleted ration i.e. T1 (control), T2 (25 parts MSC), T3 (25 parts 1 % NH4OH treated MSC) and T4 (low CP-ve control for a period of 14 weeks. The digestibility of DM, OM, CP, CF and NFE were significantly (P < 0.01) different among various treatments. The kids daily retained 7.24,2.74, 5.35 and 2.07 g N on T1, T2, T3 and T4 rations, respectively. Incorporation of treated MSC improved DCP than when included as untreated MSC. Feeding oo detoxified MSC containing rations resulted in increased growth rate, improved feed utilization and lesser feed cost/kg live weight gain as compared to the undetoxified MSC feeding.
