A Descriptive Study to assess the time management skills among BSc Nursing students in selected college at Mysuru with a view to conduct teaching programme

Abstract

The main aim of the study was focused to determine the time management skills among III Year B.sc nursing students in JSS College of nursing, Mysuru. Data was collected from 60 III Year B.sc nursing students.

1. To assess the time management skills among BSc Nursing students.

In this study descriptive design was used and Sampling technique used was nonprobability convenient sampling technique.was adopted to select nursing students in Mysuru. Pilot study was conducted, the tool and study design were found to be feasible. Data was collected from 60 III Year B.sc nursing students using Rating scale to assess the time management skills among BSc nursing students. The data were collected and analyses using descriptive and inferential statistics.

The study reveals that majority (30%) of the III Year B.sc nursing students had satisfactory time management skill, 28.33% of them had good time management skill, 21.66% of them had poor time management skill and 20% of them had excellent time management skill. The result also shows that the time management nursing students had no significant association with their selected personal variables.

Therefore, the study reinforces the need to organize teaching programs which sensitize the B.sc nursing students to enhance the knowledge regarding time management skills.
