E-Learning in Nursing Education

Abstract

Rapid changes in the technology and global developments forces Nursing educational systems to make necessary modifications from time to time. As a result we are facing a rapid development and use of new educational approaches such as e-Learning, simulations, virtual reality etc. Infact they brought a revolution to teaching and learning. E -learning and LMS has many advantages when it is used in a prudent manner. A major challenge in adopting E –learning in Nursing Education is to enhance personal touch and interaction in E-learning, facilitating e-learning environment with peer support, academic fulfillment and familiarity with global culture. Nursing profession as a whole is in a cultural shift along with the technological development. Along with this nursing education also must accelerate the transformation to a digitally supported education system added to the face to face education system.
