Abstract

Four healthy Murrah buffaloes were selected from institute herd to determine the basal levels of Ig and effect of bromocryptine on plasma Ig levels. A single injection of bromocryptine @ 100 μg per kg body wt. was administered s/c in the neck region during early lactation of 50 days. Blood samples were collected for 5 days preceding and subsequent to administration of bromocryptine. Plasma Ig levels varied non-significantly between animals, periods and days experiment showing no effect of bromocryptinc on plasma Ig levels.
