The study was conducted among randomly selected 120 fisherwomen of South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The study revealed that majority of fisherwomen were from backward caste and middle aged with poor literacy background. About 62.5% of the family size with marginal land holdings having a meager annual turns over from the different fishery activities were medium type. The findings revealed that out of eight variables only five variables namely family size, family type, annual income, land areas and utilizations of information sources were significantly associated with decision making process of women in different fishery activities. Regression analysis showed that annual income and utilization of information sources have contributed significantly (P<0.01) to explain the variability in decision making of the fisher women.
