The study was conducted to analyse some of the nitrogenous metabolites (Total protein,albumin, globulin, A:G ratio, urea and creatinine) of Magra sheep in existing famine conditions in arid region of Rajasthan (Bikaner). The statistical analysis of the data revealed that Albumin and A:G ratio declined with age whereas urea, creatinine, total protein and globulin increased with advancing age. Sex differences were observed only in Albumin and urea leveled where male had significantly higher values than females. The gerantological increase in protein profile, creatinine and urea revealed positive nitrogen balance. This biochemical milieu suggests the capability of Magra sheep to survive and produce even in near famine conditions present in Bikaner region during the course of study.
