Twelve local goats (98.41 ± 0.79 d old of 10.71 ± 0.31 kg BW) were fed on pelleted complete feed composed of sorghum straw (60%), cotton seed cake (32%), sorghum grain (05%), arhar chunni (03%), mineral mixture (02%) and common salt (01%) containing 7% DCP and 65% TDN for 120 days. The DMI/100 kg body weight was 4.55 ± 0.10 kg and the ADG was 66.78 g. The goats were in positive nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus balance. The rumen liquor profile studied fortnightly showed significant (P < 0.01) variations for pH, TVFA, NH3-N, total nitrogen, TCA-ppt-N and NPN. The blood biochemical parameters also revealed significant (P < 0.01) variations for glucose, total protein, calcium and phosphorus. It was concluded that sorghum straw can be successfully incorporated in pelleted complete diet of goat with average weight gain of 66 g daily.
