Abstract

Molecular markers are being used in a wide variety of genetic studies, such as DNA sexing and phylogenetic analysis. Till date, studies have focused on phylogenetic studies on emu birds using mitocondrial DNA sequences. However, the use of sex specific DNA markers for phylogenetic analysis can reveal if there is any significant difference between the dendrograms of two sexes. The current study focuses on the problem of sex diagnosis and phylogenetic analysis using sex specific molecular markers.
